The motto on Team Ruby is “With pride and perseverance you will have the power to reach your goals”.
Persevering is a trait that we have encouraged the children to practice all year. Middle school is a challenging time in a child’s life as they grow physically, mentally and emotionally. To ask a child to continue to fight through adversity whether in the classroom or in their personal lives, is a challenging skill at this age. Your child has shown that they have what it takes to push through a difficult moment and focus on their goals.

EHMS students: Please use this schedule for Friday February 19 distance learning snow day.

Due to the timing of the snow tomorrow, Friday, February 19 will be a synchronous Distance Learning Day for the East Hampton Public Schools. Distance Learning for all students will end at Noon and, as it is the last day of Random Acts of Kindness Week, all students should plan on participating in a Random Act of Kindness beginning at 12:01.

The 6th grade Developmental Guidance Classes celebrated “Random Act of Kindness” week by having a book read to them and then creating their own Kindness Quilt. The book was entitled, “The Kindness Quilt” by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace. Then the students had to reflect about themselves and what acts of kindness they have demonstrated to either a family member, friend, community, animal, earth…anything that they can think of. The students were able to design their own “square” of kindness and were able to put it all together to create a beautiful KINDNESS QUILT.
