Special Education

The Special Education department offers academic support for students with special needs. The Special Education department is committed to providing services to students based on an inclusionary model. Classroom modifications are made for students as specified by individualized educational programs. Whenever possible, classes are collaboratively taught by regular and special education teachers.

The department provides a Learning Resource Center (LRC) where students can receive small group support and instruction. Specific classes are offered to strengthen academic skills such as mathematics, reading, and written expression. In addition, a Vocational Skills class and a Transitional Life Skills class are available to assist students in exploring post-secondary education options, making a positive transition rom school to career,, and developing independent living skills.
