Our Artist Mission:
We strive to teach the qualities of ingenuity, creativity, and problem solving with the visual arts. We stretch and guide our students through exploration of media, subject matter and ideas. We expose them to various cultures and art genres through art history; i.e. French, Chinese, Japanese, Native American, Mexican, African, African American, Italian, Spanish, American and more. Each student will have an authentic and unique journey through the artistic process as they develop their fine and gross motor skills, and exercise their problem solving, observation, and imagination abilities.

LMC Mission and Goals:
The mission of the Pre K-Grade 5 library program, implemented at both Memorial and Center schools, is to promote information literacy and the effective use of ideas and technology among students and staff. The program is designed to meet this goal through:

  • instructing how to access, select, organize, and evaluate information.

  • promoting digital citizenship and practicing responsible use of technology.

  • providing a collection of print and non-print materials to supplement and enhance the Pre K-5 curriculum.

  • supporting personal growth and development through reading and literature.

  • providing information, reference and reader’s advisory services to both students and staff.

The Music Mission

Three Artistic Processes: Creating, Performing, and Responding. Students in each grade level, from preschool through grade three, will experience these three artistic processes, as related to music, in various age-appropriate ways and through the use of instruments, singing, and movement. Students will develop basic music literacy skills, compose and improvise their own music, respond to musical performances, and expand their repertoire and knowledge of folk songs and rhymes.
