Buddy benches are meant in foster inclusion, to make sure no student sits alone, or is at recess alone. Students and adults both feel that it creates more chances for kids to make new friends and promotes an avenue for kids to invite others to join them.

This is a great collaborative project between the schools, the foundation and Rushford Academy in Durham, where at-risk youth construct the benches.  Fifty more Buddy Benches are planned to be built and donated to schools.   Center School is extremely grateful to have been selected to receive one of the first benches.
