Welcome to the East Hampton Public Schools and thank you for visiting the Memorial School website.

By visiting this website, you have taken a first step in being an active participant in your child(ren)’s education. I encourage all parents to engage in and monitor their child(ren)’s progress by using all that we have to offer here at Memorial School.

I am proud to be a member of the Memorial family by serving as Principal in a district that strives to prepare and inspire students to be innovative and responsible contributing members of an ever-changing global society. It is an honor and privilege to be Principal at Memorial and I recognize what a great responsibility I have in leading this fine community of learners. I lead by motivating and supporting our staff and students to be risk takers and to strive for greatness. I look forward to helping others learn and grow through hard work and dedication. Please know that working with young children is my passion and that you will get my best effort each and every school day!

The 2018-2019 school year will be exciting as we focus our work around our Profile of the Graduate for East Hampton. At Memorial, we will be actively encouraging wonder, caring, imagination, confidence and teamwork. These terms will be the foundation from which we will instruct our students with an engaging, relevant curriculum and personalized learning models that promote deeper learning opportunities in the classroom for every student. Staff and students will create portfolios highlighting this work and we look forward to sharing it through numerous platforms such as classroom communications, our Memorial Facebook account and our Cheetah Pride Press newsletter. At Memorial, we are committed to educating the whole child. Teachers purposefully use higher order questioning techniques that invite students to engage in discourse while solving problems. Students are active learners who have opportunities to lead their own learning. Our staff is also committed to the emotional well-being of every member of our school community and most especially our students. We are excited to begin implementing a “Cheetah Champion” advisory model to ensure each student is known, valued and connected to our school community.

I look forward to partnering with you to make this school year a success. Please stop in to see me or give me a call at any time 860-365-4020.
